Armchair BEA: Best of 2012

Design credit: Emily of Emily's Reading Room

Well, I have no clue how it happened but for some reason I didn't know there was a  posting topic for Armchair BEA participants who are not holding a giveaway. I guess I better get at it...

Best of 2012

When trying to come up with my list, I realized with shock I have only actually read one 2012 release so far. I depend on my library for a lot of the books I read and it always takes them a while to get the latest books, so most of the books I have read this year are from 2011 - which is why there are mostly books on my list that I am really looking forward to this year.

Fugitives by Alexander Gordon Smith

This was most definitely one of my favorite reads this year. It is the fourth installment in the Escape from Furnace series and it is just as haunting, dark, and disturbing as all the other ones. I am actually reading the last book in this series right now. Execution won't be released in the US until later this year, but you can already get the UK version, which is what I have. This series is one of the best I have read in a long time.

*****

Before I Wake by Rachel Vincent

Rachel Vincent is one of the reasons why I am devastated I can't go to BEA. She is an incredible author and her Soul Screamers series is one of my absolute favorites. This book is my most anticipated one this year. Only three weeks from today and then it will finally be released! I already know it's going to be a heart-breaker in some ways but I just need to know what's going on with my favorite characters.

*****

Insurgent by Veronica Roth

I haven't actually read this book yet, but a copy should be on its way to me, hopefully, and I just know already I am going to love it. Divergent was one of my top 3 reads last year and I am dying to find out what's happening in this novel.

*****

A Touch Morbid by Leah Clifford

I haven't read this book yet either, but I do have it on my shelf and I have already peaked inside and am so super excited to get started on it as soon as I finish my current read. Leah Clifford is so amazing and I cannot wait for her next blogTV to tell us all about the fun she had at BEA.

*****

Demon Eyes by Scott Tracey

I read Witch Eyes in March of this year and ever since then I have been dying to get my hands on Demon Eyes. The wait until October is going to kill me. On a side note, I bet Scott Tracey is having a blast at BEA.

*****

There are a lot of other books that have already been released and that I cannot wait to read. A couple of them are already on my shelf and I just haven't had the chance to read them yet - Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins and Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

So, this is my Best of 2012 list, though I could have easily added another twenty or more books I wish I could read right now.

What about you? What have been some of your favorite reads so far this year?
Feel free to leave a comment and tell me about them.

    1. I was going to mention a TON more but I was afraid it would end being too many. *lol*

Gosh, yes, Lockdown was one heck of a read - I seriously had trouble breathing while reading it. My chest would constantly tighten and I would be sitting here gasping for air. It's just so intense...

Before I Wake!!! Have you read Rachel/fiktshun's thoughts about it yet??? I can't even begin to tell you how much more I want it now. I didn't even know it was possible. WOW!!!

  7. Insurgent is currently sitting on my nightstand, just waiting on me to devour it. I can't believe I've lasted this long with out reading it. I'll have to check out the others ones you listed on Goodreads. Thanks!

I hope you have a great BEA-filled week!

  8. I use the library a lot too. I used to only buy books, but this is part of the new, more frugal me - LOL! It really is a great resource... So, I have been reading a lot about Insurgent - sounds good ;)

    1. Oh gosh, I could never afford only buying books. I think if I did that, I'd only be reading five books a year. ;) I love that you can do inter-library loans here, the only thing is books have to be at least 6 months old. Though I did get lucky with Witch Eyes, because I requested it only 4 months after it was released and got it 2 weeks later. :)

Anyway! ;) Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

    1. Yeah, depending on when I'll get my copy, I might have to re-read Divergent again - or at least look through it, which I sooo don't mind... Four... ;)

      Thanks so much stopping by!
