WoW: The Dead And Buried by Kim Harrington

"Waiting On" Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine where you highlight books you are anxiously waiting for.

My pick for this week will not be released until January 1st, 2013, but I love the cover so much and the story sounds so intriguing, I just had to pick it.

Goodreads description:

Jade loves the house she's just moved into with her family. She doesn't even mind being the new girl at the high school: It's a fresh start, and there's that one guy with the dreamy blue eyes. . . . But then things begin happening. Strange, otherworldly things. Jade's little brother claims to see a glimmering girl in his room. Jade's jewelry gets moved around, as if by an invisible hand. Kids at school whisper behind her back like they know something she doesn't.

Soon, Jade must face an impossible fact: that her perfect house is haunted. Haunted by a ghost who's seeking not just vengeance, but the truth. The ghost of a girl who ruled Jade's school -- until her untimely death last year. It's up to Jade to put the pieces together before her own life is at stake. As Jade investigates the mystery, she discovers that her new friends in town have more than a few deep, dark secrets. But is one of them a murderer?

Isn't this a haunting cover? There have only been a couple of ghost stories so far that I have enjoyed, and I think this one could be the next one in line. I love the idea of an angry ghost who seeks vengeance on the people who've wronged them. I am sure there will be a fairly long line of possible suspects for this murder. What could be the motive? Jealousy? Envy? We shall find out next January. I, for one, am already very excited!

WoW: Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake

"Waiting On" Wednesdays is a weekly meme created by Breaking the Spine, where you highlight a book which you are dying to read.

My pick for this week is "Girl of Nightmares" by Kendare Blake which is book two in the Anna series. Clicking on the picture will bring you to the Goodreads page.

Goodreads description:

In this follow-up to Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas begins seeing Anna everywhere: sometimes when he’s asleep, and sometimes in waking nightmares. But something is very wrong. These aren’t just daydreams. Anna seems tortured, torn apart in new and ever more gruesome ways every time she appears.

Cas doesn’t know what happened to Anna when she disappeared into Hell, but he knows she doesn’t deserve whatever is happening to her now. Anna saved Cas more than once, and it’s time for him to return the favor.

I had never read a story about ghosts until reading "Anna Dressed in Blood", and I really wasn't sure about the subject at all. As soon as I started it, however, I immediately fell in love with it. It's an amazing story with fantastic characters. I devoured this book in no time and have ever since then wanted to have book number two in my hands. Unfortunately, I will have to wait a few more months.

"Girl of Nightmares" is set to be released on August 7th, 2012 by Tor Teen.

I thought the cover for "Anna Dressed in Blood" was stunning, but this one is just as gorgeous and so haunting.

Is there a book you are very excited about and which is going to be released within the next few months? I would love to know what books you are dying to read - maybe I can find a few more to add to my reading pile.

WoW: The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

"Waiting On" Wednesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine, where you highlight a book you are anxiously awaiting to read.

For this week's post I decided on a book which has already been released, but I haven't yet had the chance to read it. It is John Green's "The Fault In Our Stars".

Goodreads description:

Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 12, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.

I have been wanting to read this book ever since it was released. The story sounds so incredible and touching, and I wish I could read it right now. It is actually one of those books that should have made it onto my TTT list yesterday. I will be stalking my library and bugging the life out of the staff there, until they will finally get a copy, so I can devour it.
