TGIF at GReads! {2}: Social Networking

TGIF at GReads! is a weekly feature for Fridays, created to re-cap the week's posts and to propose a question to followers.

The question for this week is:

Social Networking: Do you use Twitter or Facebook to promote your blog?  How has it benefited your book blogging experience? If not, how do you promote your blog? Share your twitter handle and/or Facebook link!

I like how easy this week's question is, especially since I haven't participated in this feature in a while.

Yes, I do use twitter as well as facebook to promote my blog. I'm not really sure I would go as far as calling it "promoting" though since I'm only posting/tweeting links to my reviews etc. for now. I have noticed though I usually get at least a couple of new page views on my blog after I tweeted a link, so it's working somewhat to spread the word I guess.
I use twitter quite a bit to talk to other bloggers though which has helped me a lot, because I have found there are many lovely bloggers out there who are willing to give advice and support to people who are new to the blogging world. I really appreciate all the help I have gotten already.

My facebook page is still pretty bare which could explain why I only have 8 followers which all happen to be friends of mine - whether it's real life friends or blogger friends. I'm still kind of learning the ropes about everything concerning blogging, so I'm just hoping people will stick it out with me, because I know I will get better. It's all a matter of practice, right?!
I still haven't figured how to get my facebook page linked to the blog, so if anyone has any idea, I would be incredibly thrilled.

Obviously, new followers are always more than welcome - whether it's on twitter, facebook, or right here through GFC, I welcome everyone with open arms.

You can find me on twitter right here: @smiling_ina
And my facebook page is right here: smiling_ina's bookish corner

Feel free to follow me or like my facebook page. You can also leave me a message if you'd like, I don't bite, and I will definitely try to respond as soon as I can.

Have a happy Friday!!!

  1. Posting links on Twitter is a form of promotion, so you're already there!

And it takes time to get up to speed. There are those that come right out of the starting gate with a gameplan and get a ton of followers immediately, know how to market themselves and their blogs. And that's great.

And then there are those, who take awhile to figure out what they want, how to do it, what they're comfortable with, etc.

I'm super excited you are officially blogging now! I can't wait to read more about your bookish thoughts. :)

    1. Well, I'm definitely one who takes a while to figure things out. *lol*

I know quite a few blogs use giveaways to promote their blogs, but I don't want to be known as a "giveaway blog" - plus, I couldn't afford that anyway. ;) I love joining in memes and features though, so I think it might spread the word a little bit more too. :)

Aww thank you!!! You saying that means a lot to me!!! Right now, it seems like I'm blogging a few days in a row, and then take a break for a few days. I don't intend it that way, but that's how it seems to work out somehow. *hmm*

  2. Your background makes the text diffcult to read maybe if you used the repeating image down the left-hand side?

    1. Yes, I've noticed that too, so I spent a little time last night to change things up a bit. It might get changed again though, you never know with me. ;) Thanks for stopping by, though! :)
